Niagara Has Lots of Free Concerts

My wife, Ellen and I enjoy each summer season attending many of the free outdoor Coca Cola concerts sponsored by The Niagara Parks Commission held on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evening between 8 pm and 10 pm near the falls. A spectacular fireworks display after each concert explodes above the falls.

I realized there are plenty of other places to enjoy these types of concerts and thought I’d just jot a few down. These concerts are all free but there is a hat passed around. Parking is free. All concerts start around 7 pm.

-Twilight Tuesdays at Fireman’s Park on Mountain Road in Niagara Falls Ontario.

-Steve Burnside’s Summertime Blues Concerts also held at Fireman’s Park Mountain Road.

-Thorold Reed Concert Band series is held every Wednesday at nearby Battle of Beaverdams Park in Thorold. It’s here “where the ships climb the mountain” as they pass through the Welland Canal.

-About a half hour drive from Niagara Falls is the Charles Daley Park Band shell where concerts sponsored by the Rotary are held every Tuesday evening.

If you’re visiting the area take in some of these concerts and rub shoulders with the locals. The price is definitely right.
