The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the Finance department. Reporting to the General Manager, essential job functions and duties include but are not limited to the following:
Preparation of all month end closing, ledger analysis, capital expenditures, and fixed asset management
Direct Management of both accounts payable and accounts receivable departments
Managing external audit process
Manage external auditing as well as be point person for external accounting firms
Preparation of financial statements and variance reporting
Preparation of monthly forecasts 30-60-90
Preparation of annual operating and CAPEX budgets for all affiliates
Responsible for maintaining the internal accounting systems
Analysis of financial data, profitability, and pricing.
Recommend appropriate changes to improve systems, controls, and financial performance, and develop corrective actions where needed
Manage and direct the accounting support staff, payroll and accounting supervisor
Build collaborative relationships with company directors and contract partners
Monthly Business Review presentation on performance and variance analysis with VP of Finance, General Manager

BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
Minimum 5 years in a Senior Accounting/Managerial role
Desire to work in a team environment
Candidate must have highest professional integrity
Recent hands on experience with Accounting Software Reporting programs
Strong technical accounting skills with detailed understanding of current GAAP
Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills required
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of information systems
Must thrive in a fast paced environment
Hornblower Cruises & Events has been the leading charter yacht and public dining cruise company in United States for more than 32 years. The San Francisco-based organization operates more than 60 vessels in Northern California (San Francisco, Berkeley and Sacramento) and Southern California (San Diego, Newport Beach, Long Beach and Marina del Rey), and the company also launched Hornblower New York in 2012.
