About the Position

The Shaw Festival Theatre, located in the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, in the heart of Niagara Region's wine country, is seeking a Director of Finance & Infrastructure.  This person is a key member of the senior management team of one of Canada's largest and most successful not-for-profit arts organizations. S/he reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Finance and Executive Committees of the Board of Governors, providing strategic advice and analysis and ensuring that the Festival's financial plans reflect the organization's artistic and business priorities.

In this role, the Director has senior responsibility for the Festival's Finance, Information Technology, Facilities and Distribution functions and employees.  S/he maintains important relationships with external partners including professional institutions, funders and governments, and serves as Treasurer of the Shaw Endowment Foundation.

Candidates will have enjoyed successful careers over the past fifteen years with at least five years in a CFO role, preferably with experience in other high profile, not-for-profit organizations.  A Professional Accounting Designation (CA/CPA, CMA, CGA)  is essential, as is a university degree in finance, commerce, business administration or similar field of study.  Excellent management skills, mature judgment, strong analytical abilities and a sound knowledge of current best practices in accounting, IT and facilities management are all required.
