Wine in Niagara
Discover the Region
Everyone loves the wineries in Niagara. Welcome to Niagara's wine country, uniquely located around the Niagara Escarpment (a ridge carved by ancient glaciers) which is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve for good reason: While providing a habitat for hundreds of plant and animal species, it’s responsible for the wondrous Niagara Falls. The Niagara Escarpment is the backbone of Canada’s oldest and longest footpath, the Bruce Trail; and it’s vital to the distinctive microclimate that supports Ontario’s most active wine region. Charming and unforgettable, this destination boasts a growing culinary scene, and boutique wineries that are both laid-back and engaging. Niagara has plenty of unforgettable wine experiences, flavors and tastes are as diverse as the experiences themselves. Discover Niagara shiraz vineyards, award-winning sauvignon blanc or our famous ice wines #niagarachilled.
Bookg a wine tour in the Niagara Region - they're pairing wines with local Niagara fruits and vegies and local cheeses; putting guests in the vineyards on bikes, electronic skooters, or tour buses; and pouring tastes of wines you'll never find anywhere else. Niagara Wine Tours are proud to offer professionally, guided private and group transportation throughout Canada’s Wine & Culinary Destination! Strolling in vineyards and sampling in estate wineries make winemaking education unforgettable! Wine tours occur yearlong supporting 3 harvest seasons, Spring- New Vintage, Fall- Harvest and Ice Wines for the Winter.
Many of our Niagara wineries hold events and live musical performances where local wine, food and culture can be sampled. Every year The Regional ‘Niagara Wine Festival’ develop “Discovery Passes” to celebrate, taste and experience the Niagara Harvest celebrations at participating wineries. The Discovery Passes give you exclusive access to wine tasting experiences including food and wine pairings, educational seminars and more. If you are a fan of the vine, the Fall Harvest Discover Passes occur in September. The Ice Wine Discovery Pass occurs in January when we celebrate #niagarachilled where extraordinary evenings serve irresistible wine and food pairings along with outdoor activities such as exploring Ice Street Villages to marshmallow roasting along the famed wine route.
All of the Niagara wineries are located in the beautiful Niagara Peninsula where you'll want to savor the views long after your glass is empty..
