Wild Bill Hickok's Wild West Show
It was on August 28, 1872 that James Butler (Wild Bill Hickok) and Buffalo Bill Cody put on a “Wild West” show in the fallsview area of Niagara Falls. It was a one day event complete with a large number of Native Americans who were brought in from the American Mid-West. The show was promoted by a local entrepreneur, Thomas Barnett to draw more people to Niagara Falls. The event included the re-enactment of an Indian Burial and an unsuccessful Buffalo hunt.
The affair was a dismal failure.
