Paint like the Group of Seven: 2-Day Acrylic Landscape Workshop

Level: Beginner and Intermediate
All materials will be provided by the artist and RiverBrink. You are welcome to bring your own sketch book, paper, and canvas!
As the exhibition Centre and Periphery: The Group of Seven continues, RiverBrink Art Museum invites you to immerse yourself in the world of landscape painting. Guided by experienced artist-instructor Janet Horne Cozens, this workshop will allow you to create expressive acrylic paintings inspired by the iconic style of the Group of Seven.
Over the two-day workshop, you will learn about working with acrylic colours, texture and composition in landscape painting. You will also have the opportunity to sketch with paint in small formats in the way that the members of the Group of Seven did on their plywood supports and study their work up close within our museum collection.
By the end of the class, you will be able to capture immense skies, scenic waterfronts and majestic trees and have some beautiful paintings to be proud of.
