New Entertainment Centre Planned for Niagara Falls
The Ontario Gaming and Lottery Corporation, the owner of Niagara Falls two casinos, has announced construction has begun on a new 5,000 seat entertainment centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The contract to build the new facility went to Entertainment Partners, a consortium that includes Bird Construction Inc, of Mississauga. The centre is being built on Stanley Avenue beside the Hilton Hotel. There is easy access to the Fallsview Casino nearby.
This new capacity will pay for bigger acts says Niagara Falls Mayor, Jim Diodati. The current 1,400 seat entertainment complex at the Avalon Ballroom at the Fallsview Casino Resort meant they weren’t able to bring in top-level talent without losing money because they had to charge too much. With 5,000, they can spread out the cost of major entertainers over 5,000 people and make it more affordable.
No word yet on an opening date.
The facility will eventually be operated by the service provider selected to take over day-to-day operations of the Fallsview Casino Resort.
