In 2018, The Government of Canada recognized the United Nations proclamation of The International Decade for People of African Descent to celebrate their contributions to Canadian society and fight racism and discrimination. This installation will join one of many in Canada depicting the rich history of African Canadians and their contributions to the fabric of our being. Participants of all backgrounds are invited to engage in a drop-in basis over the summer to create thematic tiles on paper. Use the poem The Fabric of Our Being by Nadine Williams to guide the creation of sketches, quotes and poetry. Be a part of the journey to educate and celebrate with IDPAD.

The final piece will be displayed at Niagara Falls Night of Art on September 19, 2024.
