This is what it looked like in 1999 before construction of the Fallsview Casino Resort had begun in 2001. This resort opened in June of 2004.The Casino Resort is now found where The Transformer Station for Ontario Hydro was located amongst the trees in the lower left of this photo. Part of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls can also be seen.

Look closely and you’ll see construction had begun on the Embassy Suites (it opened in 2003) between the Minolta Tower built in 1961 (now The Tower Hotel Fallsview) and the Oakes Hotel (now called The All New Oakes Hotel).

The Four Points by Sheraton Fallsview (formerly The Rennaissance Hotel) built in 1986, is on the right of the photograph.

There are lots of new high rise hotels located in this area since this aerial photograph was taken in 1999.
