Update:Ontario Power Generation's New Tunnel

I read in the St. Catharines Standard that the tunnel built underground from above the Canadian Horseshoe Falls to the power plants at Queenston is working just fine. Locals called the new tunnel, “Big Becky”. Ontario Power Generation spokesman Neil Kelly is quoted as saying, “The tunnel is operating, water is flowing through it, and it is producing additional energy."

The more there is a demand for electricity the more water will be allowed to flow through the tunnel to produce this electricity. Due to the fact this has been a milder November than in the past less energy is being produced, therefore less water is flowing through the tunnel.

This tunnel was built between 2006 and 2013 to provide energy for a century to come.
