It looked a lot different at Table Rock near the falls during the middle of the 19th century. Here’s an image from my historic falls photo library of the original Table Rock. Look carefully and you can see homesteads in the distance with wooden rails around them. This area is now a large parking lot.

This original Table Rock fell into the Niagara Gorge not too long after this photograph was taken.
