A Short Escape from Winter in Niagara Falls

Are you looking to take a short break from winter without ever having to step on a plane? Niagara Falls is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway to escape the cold. With a variety of indoor activities that’ll make you feel like it's summer, this two-day itinerary has everything you and your family need from travel tips and must-see attractions to cozy accommodations and dining recommendations!

What To Do on Day 1

What To Do on Day 1

Arrive in Niagara by mid-morning. Once you check-in and settle into your hotel, get ready for a day full of fun!

Nothing says summer like a day at the waterpark! Start your adventure at Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, where you'll find 16 exciting waterslides, a massive Beach House Rain Fortress with a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket, a giant wave pool, and a year-round outdoor activity pool with a sundeck. Relax in private cabanas, take a spin on the plunge bowl, or unwind in one of two oversized adults-only jacuzzies. Younger guests will love the Tiny Tot play area, while everyone can enjoy light snacks at the Beach Club.

It’s time for dinner! Make your winter-to-summer journey even more special with a stop at the Rainforest Café. Step through the towering 80-foot bubbling volcano and you’ll find yourself in a vibrant rainforest brought to life by animatronic snakes, elephants, and gorillas. It’s the only place where you can experience an indoor thunderstorm every half hour! Once the storm passes, keep an eye out for shooting stars and the hidden face in the Starscape— an unforgettable touch to your adventure. Don't miss the 'Wild Bunch' merchandise collection— grab a special souvenir to bring the magic of the Rainforest home with you!

WHAT TO DO ON DAY 2

WHAT TO DO ON DAY 2

Get ready to experience the warmth of summer on the second day of your winter escape!

Head to the Bird Kingdom, the World's Largest Free-Flying Indoor Aviary, where you’ll encounter hundreds of tropical birds as you explore the pathways throughout the multi-level rainforest.

Nestled within the jungle is a rare Javanese Tea House from the 1800s— the only one of its kind in North America. This architectural masterpiece, crafted entirely from hand-carved solid teak, was constructed without the use of nails. Visitors often uncover hidden writings and blessings etched into the carvings, and ongoing research continues to reveal the rich history and deeper significance of these fascinating details.

Explore the mysterious ruins of the Night Jungle, home to owls, bats, and other nocturnal creatures. Listen to the chirping crickets, the hooting of owls, and the other intriguing sounds of the night.

Don't miss the chance to feed the lorikeets at Lorikeet Landing (Main Aviary). These playful birds will land on you as you offer them nectar for a truly magical experience.

While you’re there be sure to explore the plants and gardens section. One of its standout features is the Living Wall— a breathtaking three-story vertical garden rising above a tranquil fishpond. This ingenious system beautifully replicates natural ecosystems.

Need a sweet escape? Head to Hershey’s Chocolate World and treat yourself to irresistible delights.

Savour gourmet fudge, sip on a Hershey’s signature milkshake, and snap a photo with the Hershey Kisses characters in front of the iconic Niagara Falls replica!

Discover a tropical garden oasis at The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory, one of the largest glass-enclosed butterfly conservatories in North America. With over 2,000 vibrantly coloured butterflies fluttering around winding pathways, the conservatory is a serene escape, featuring lush vegetation and trickling waterfalls. Experience the fascinating pupal stage of a butterfly’s life cycle at The Emergence Window. You may even witness a butterfly emerge from its pupa, hanging as it dries its wings before taking its first flight.

End your adventure on a delicious note with dinner at TGI Friday's or Turtle Jacks— just what you need to relax and recharge.
