Celebrating 75 Years! - NFBC
Did you know that this year marks both the 75th Anniversary of the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC), as well as the 50th Anniversary of the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge span?! Yep, it's true. And according to NFBC Chairman Tom Pryce, "to properly acknowledge and pay tribute to 75 years of effective, bi-national service to the Western New York and Southern Ontario regions, the Commission has a series of exciting events and activities planned for the second-half of 2013."
As a result, an official webpage is now available, as is a neat, retro (and downloadable) poster of the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge span. The commission also plans to put a commemorative shirt for sale online, with proceeds helping support local food banks on both sides of the border.
Later this year a Lewiston-Queenston Bridge oil-painting will be issued, a free public fireworks display will take place over the falls on the evening of AUGUST 23, and other special events will also take place.
“2013 is an important year in the history of the NFBC and one that we wish to celebrate in a thoughtful and memorable manner,” continued Chairperson Pryce.
