Chamber of Commerce Trade Dollars Remembered
Do any of you remember the trade dollar the Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce issued in November of 1985 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of The Niagara Parks Commission?
One side of the dollar size coin features the Coat of Arms of the City of Niagara Falls Ontario and on the reverse side of the coin an engraving of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls with a tulip in the foreground. The tulip was a new variety especially grown to commemorate the 100th birthday of The Niagara Parks Commission.
Here’s a photograph of one side of the coin with also a photograph of the Centennial Tulip.
