Redcoats Battle on Saturday, May 25th and 26th
Fort George in Niagara on the Lake is the location for another War of 1812 re-enactment. This historic Battle of Fort George actually took place on May 27th 1812.
The weekend will be filled with lots of activity.
Re-enactors from all over North America will be at the effort at 2pm both Saturday and Sunday for, “The Bombardment of Fort George”. A repeat performance takes place on Saturday evening at 9 pm. You can expect to see costumed soldiers and their families camped outside the fort. The event is free to the public, but come early to get a parking space.
I plan on riding my bike early along the lovely Niagara River Recreation Trail to this historic town to save the hassle of parking a car.
