The Canadian Horseshoe Falls
For many years, I’ve conducted my own personal campaign to add the word Canadian when talking about the Horseshoe Falls. The fall is found entirely in Canada as set out in the Treaty of Ghent in 1814.The international boundary is set above the falls in the middle of the Niagara River. At the falls, the boundary moves to the far end of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls at Terrapin Point, and once below the falls back to the middle of the river.
The Americans have their falls. We also have our falls. Let’s be proud of that fact.
