Heartland Forest
Heartland Forest is a privately owned charity that serves the Niagara Region and Southwestern Ontario through its universal dedication to inspire the lives of people of all ages and abilities to respect, protect and enjoy the world of nature. This area presents one of the largest remaining ecosystems of its kind in the Niagara Region and is a valuable refuge for many species at risk.
The property offers free parking and admission and includes 4km of wide, easy-access forest paths accessible for strollers and mobility aids. Visitors can also enjoy boardwalks, picnic pavilions (available for rent), a 9-hole mini-putt (seasonal, Friday-Sunday), an accessible tree-house, playgrounds, fish, frog and turtle ponds, adaptable fitness stations and a 14,000 square foot Nature Centre equipped with interactive educational exhibits – all accessible.
