A Good Year for Niagara Falls
Latest reports I hear from the tourist community is that 2015 was an excellent year for visitors.
A big reason is the influx of visitors from the United States. The strong U.S. dollar compared to the Canadian dollar is one of the main reasons why business is upbeat. A customer survey tells us that visitors are very happy with their visits to Niagara Falls. The survey also told us that 60 languages were spoken by our visitors. To confirm this fact all you have to do is spend an hour or so at the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Here you’ll not only hear different languages but different dress. Niagara Falls truly is an international destination.
Here are a few other facts from the survey.
- 48.8 per cent are visiting the falls from the United States.
-20.8 percent come from outside North America.
-30.4 percent comes from Canada.
-the average group size of visitors was 3.6 persons.
Although not in the survey I can tell you after being in the tourist business for the past 55 years that more than ever Niagara Falls has become a year-round destination with most of the attractions remaining open the year round.
