A Photograph from 1941
The historic General Brock Hotel (Now the Crowne Plaza Hotel) is to the right of centre. The newly built Rainbow Bridge (1941) connects the sister cities of Niagara Falls Canada and Niagara Falls U.S.A. Note the heavy volume of water, compared to today, going over the Falls. The area on the right is now where Niagara Falls original casino, Casino Niagara, is located. The tall rectangular building is the Rainbow Carillon Tower located at the Canadian end of the Rainbow Bridge. Fans of the 1952 movie Niagara will know this as the place Joseph Cotton strangled Marilyn Monroe.
