That’s right; you can be scared right out of your pants any day of the week at the Nightmares Fear Factory located at 5631 Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls. This is the oldest haunted house attraction in North America.

I can attest to the fact that this popular year-round attraction is a frightening experience. From the moment, I entered this building earlier this week I started to sweat. I was in total darkness and all around me there were scary sounds like growls, eerie music, and spooky voices. Maybe one of the voices was that of Abraham Mortimer who one time operated a coffin factory in this location. Legend has it that Mortimer was crushed to death when one of his solid oak coffins fell on him in this very same building and he still haunts this place!

To date 141,000 people chickened out and had to be rescued from the 17 minute (the longest 17 minutes I’ve ever experienced!) house of fear!

The Fear Factory is located in the core section of the Clifton Hill district of Niagara Falls opposite Casino Niagara and the Fallsview Water Park. It is open daily noon until 9 p.m. longer during Halloween.
