Be Careful-Don't Fall
This pen and ink sketch is a reproduction from an 1888 newspaper. It shows a family of four at the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Note the lack of a wall at this point. Today, a parapet adds protection from slipping over the falls.
The gentleman seems to be showing his bravado to his wife and family. Look at the concern on the faces of the family members. I can imagine the wife saying, “Now, you be careful”.
