Murray Hill Then and Now
I‘ve been re-reading the late George Seibel’s Book, “The Niagara Portage Road” and came across a sketch drawn in the 1830’s of what we call today Murray Hill. It’s the main access to Queen Victoria Park near the falls from the Fallsview area.
The unspoiled natural beauty of the ravine leading to the lower gorge bank is beautiful. I decided to take a drive down to Murray Hill this morning and take a picture of the same spot some 185 years later.Although the roadway looks a lot different the view of the falls and gorge wall looks very similar to how it looked when the sketch was done.
