Part of Niagara Falls Photographic History
I read with interest that our local newspaper, The Niagara Falls Review have moved to a new location in the falls. Rather than bring everything to the new building their photographic library that recorded daily life in Niagara from the 1920’s to the 1980’s have been donated to the Niagara Falls Public Library.
What a great community gesture.
Andrew Porteus, manager of information resources at the library says there are between 30,000 to 40,000 photographs and negatives to be scanned and added to the library’s Niagara Digital Collection.
Congratulations to both parties. Future generations will be able to see Niagara Falls of earlier years.
