Fallsview Casino is excited to welcome home Alan Doyle, the talented Canadian musician and co-founder of the folk rock band Great Big Sea, to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino on Saturday, March 22, 2025 as part of his Alan Doyle Welcome Home Tour with special guest Fortunate Ones. The showtime is 8:00pm. Alongside marquee co-writers Jimmy Rankin, Donovan Woods, and Hollywood actor Oscar Isaac, Doyle presents nine original songs that are both typically buoyant and surprisingly intimate, what Doyle refers to as “the lower and slower: the lower part of my vocal range and the slower songs. I’m letting myself do that for the first time on this record,” which he cut in Montreal with producer-engineer Marcus Paquin. Doyle’s CV is extensive — he is a thrice-published author, a film and TV actor-producer with multiple major credits, and the co-producer of the recently released, 20-song Ron Hynes tribute album, Sonny Don't Go Away. Yet the wildly popular musician from Petty Harbour, Newfoundland remains most electrifying before a live audience, abetted by his ace band.

Joining Doyle is contemporary folk duo Fortunate Ones. They are from St. John's, Newfoundland, consisting of Andrew James O'Brien and Catherine Allan. Their sophomore album Hold Fast took home three Music NL Awards in 2018, was nominated for four East Coast Music Awards, and the 2019 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year. Fortunate Ones released That Was You and Me in 2022, and the album was nominated at the Junos in the Contemporary Roots Album category.
